What mast and antennas lengths will the Stack Strap support?
- If your mast is less then 5′ tall and your antenna is less then 3′ across, you can use any of the kits.
- If your mast is over 5′ tall but under 10′ tall and your antenna is less than 6′ long, you should use the 14″ Kit.
- If your mast is less than 10′ tall and your antenna is over 6′ long, you should use the Double 9″ Kit.
What diameter mast will the stack strap support?
If your mast is 1 to 1.25″ use the 1.75″ v-bolts.If your mast is 1.5 to 2″ use the 2.5″ v-bolts.
What size chimney will the Stack Strap fit?
Kits include 16′ straps. Larger straps are available.
What is your return policy?
If you are unhappy with your Stack Strap Chimney Mount for any reason, return the unit in less than 60 days for a 100% refund. Contact us for a return authorization number before returning the unit. Refunds include the cost of the unit and shipping to you. You pay for the shipping back to us.
How many people does it take to install the Stack Strap Chimney Mount?
Installing any chimney mount is easier with two people. One advantage of the Stack Strap is that it’s much easier for one person to install than traditional chimney mounts. Most Stack Strap Chimney Mounts are installed by one person in less than 10 minutes.
What is the life expectancy of the Stack Strap Chimney Mount?
At least 15 years. Stack Straps have been installed since 2003 and there have not been any significant issues.
What is the Stack Strap material?
The Stack Strap is made of polyethylene terephthalate.
How does the Stack Strap hold up to sunlight?
The Stack Strap has been tested to retain 81% of it’s strength after 15 years of simulated natural sunlight. (Current Stack Straps are wider and thicker than initially tested.) Stack Straps have been installed since 2003 and there have not been any failures caused by sunlight (or wind or salt spray from the ocean).
How does the Stack Strap hold up to wind?
The Stack Strap Chimney Mount ratchets breaking strain exceeds 1900 pounds and the Stack Strap breaking load exceeds 1300 pounds-force. Stack Straps have been installed since 2003 and there have not been any failures caused by wind (or sunlight or salt spray from the ocean).
How does the Stack Strap hold up to salt spray from the ocean?
The Stack Strap Chimney Mounts were developed in the United Kingdom where a significant percent of the population has to deal with salt spray from the ocean. Because of this, the Stack Strap Chimney Mounts have always been manufactured with hot-dip galvanizing to protect them from the harsh salt spray from the ocean. Stack Straps have been installed since 2003 and there have not been any failures caused by salt spray from the ocean (or wind or sunlight).
I have a corbel (decorative brick) on the top of my chimney. Will the Stack Strap Chimney Mount allow the mast to clear this?
In most cases, yes. The mast will be a minimal of 3 3/4″ from the main chimney. It may be up to 4 1/2″ from the chimney.
Will the Stack Strap Chimney Mount work on a vinyl or aluminium siding chimney ?
In most cases, no. If the chimney corners are wood, the bracket will work. If the corners are vinyl or aluminium it will not work because tightening the strap crushes the corners.
